Over the past few days, you may have seen that I’m working on a new Advanced Adulting Project and I’m asking people who follow me to participate in the pilot program as a beta tester to kick the tires and try out this new project.
WHAT THE HELL DOES THAT EVEN MEAN? 😳
I’ll explain.
Please do me the favor of reading this whole message… And I’ll explain what it means to you and why this is something good for you to be a part of.
What is a beta test or pilot program?
I’ve always had success creating things IN TANDEM with the people I’m making it for.
Does this mean you’re doing the work? NO.
It means when I create something I leave things around 80-90% done… Bu I’m open to the possibility that things need to be tweaked, adjusted, or rewritten. The pilot program or beta test allows me to perfect things and complete the remaining 10-20% based on your feedback and experience.
I’ve learned that I (or any creator, writer, entrepreneur, inventor, etc) can think their idea is amazing and the whole world will love it… and more often than not their WRONG. WHY? Because they forgot to include the most important people… the ones who will actually use it. The customers.
I may think something is the coolest thing ever… but when I run it by the people beta testing it (actual customers who are getting an early look and offering input) they may think it sucks or is useless, or offer an idea, feature, or suggestion that I hadn’t thought of.
And knowing that BEFORE you take it fully to market… IS INCREDIBLY USEFUL.
Beta Testers get to provide their insights and opinions on what works or doesn’t. So the final version is perfect.
Their participation and input are SUPER VALUABLE… and they get the full product and interaction with me as we complete the pilot and test it… (AND as thank you they are often given a bonus or special when it is released) In this case, they will get ONE YEAR of this service for FREE once it goes on sale this summer.
Beta Tests allow us to play with LIVE ammo so to speak … a real product or service. It’s the only way to truly improve something and make it work for the end user.
What is this new project?
It is a content-based project. It’s a weekly email that curates and gathers all of the important things, people, ideas, podcasts, resources, etc… on specific issues we all face at Midlife & Beyond.
If I called it a newsletter… that would be oversimplifying it. But if that helps you get your head around the concept… sure, but it’s a newsletter ON STEROIDS.
Imagine having a personal curator and coach delivering the most relevant and engaging content about the big issues we face at this stage of life PLUS lessons, tips, resources and access to the best experts in the field.
In this program, we'll cover all the big topics that matter most to YOU during this stage of life, managing finances for retirement, strategies for maintaining health and wellness, advice on navigating relationships or complex family dynamics, and even tips for finding happiness and personal growth in this chapter of life.
You'll have access to expert insights, interviews, videos, and more—all neatly packaged in an easy-to-digest format that you can consume whenever is convenient for you. You choose the area or issue you wish to learn more about or focus on.
It's like having a personal curator and coach delivering the most relevant and engaging content PLUS lessons, tips, resources and access to the best experts in the field.
There will NOT be any marketing, upsell, “join this mastermind, class, course, etc”. BS… just things you can use.
Why am I creating it?
I’ve always believed, “write the book you would want to read” or “create the product you need or would use”, “Solve a problem you and others have”
Like you… I’m a consumer of content. AND THERE IS SO MUCH NOISE and garbage out there especially related to the important things we need and want at this stage of life, it’s overwhelming and confusing to find what we need to help.
People don’t have the time, energy, or motivation to sort through everything, take every course, listen to every podcast, group coaching call, or more. PLUS so much of it is marketing BS or surface-level stuff… (I know, I’ve created some… and that’s why I’m pivoting to
What’s in it for you as a beta tester?
As a beta tester, you'll get early access to the content, direct contact and access to my guest experts, and the opportunity to shape the program with your feedback.
You will get 12 weeks | 3 months of the actual service (in the form of a weekly email and access to a special page | site) with content, interviews, resources, links and exclusive access to experts and lessons in specific areas that are important to us in midlife. (ie. money, retirement, health, aging parents, purpose, next steps, friendships, activities, grown kids, to name a few) Things that can change or improve your life, educate, entertain, create awareness and give you an opportunity to go deeper on with resources.
What is expected of you?
Feedback. Thats it!
There is NO time commitment. NO meetings, calls, schedules, or things to keep up with.
It is a weekly email. You can read it when you get it or save and binge i later or when it is convenient for you.
I simply ask for your feedback throughout the 3 month period.
You will have access to me throughout AND I will have 3 OPTIONAL calls during that period.
Is it free?
No.. and here is why!
The cost to participate is $8 per week for 12 weeks or 3 months ($96). This is a discounted rate from what the full sale price will be. At the end of that time, when the final version goes on sale at full price… YOU WILL GET A WHOLE YEAR FOR FREE. You will have access for a total of 15 months.
There is a small charge because nobody takes anything seriously that they get for free.
I mean, how many webinars have you signed up for and never attended? How many things have you signed up for downloaded etc. and NEVER even opened or used?
Nobody values free.
They don't value the time, and the content, and they don't participate fully unless there is skin in the game... no matter how small. (I know because I too am a consumer)
PLUS feedback from a free offer is skewed inaccurate and unreliable. It's like asking your friend if she likes your painting, "Oh of course. it's great"Now ask your friend if she will buy your painting or for REAL feedback.... very different story.
Skin in the game, even a small amount creates accountability, expectations, and value FOR BOTH OF US.
You EXPECT value and I'm obligated to deliver it. Free doesn't guarantee that.
“But we are giving you feedback?” Yep, and you are getting the real service for 12 weeks at a dramatically discounted rate because you’re providing feedback.
As a paid member of the 12-week pilot program, when the final service is launched and available to the public, you will receive a ONE-YEAR subscription to the final program for free as a THANK YOU for your participation and feedback. You will have access for a total of 15 months.
How do you join?
I’ve limited this project to 50 people. I have approx 15 spots remaining.
