In my over 50+ years on this planet, I’ve done a lot of cool things and spent time with a lot of very cool people. Especially for a kid from West Texas. Those experiences and people taught me a lot… personally and professionally.
I made a career sharing what I’ve learned and experienced on my own and through other people (good and bad) and by connecting people with ideas, opportunities… and each other.
Along the way I turned my ideas, experiences, and journals about business, careers, life, and parenting into best-selling books that have been published in languages all over the world. I’ve spoken to thousands of people on stage. I’ve been on TV, hell, I’ve even been in The Wall Street Journal and Rolling Stone.
In business I’ve been hired to advise, represent, and develop programs for some of the biggest companies on earth. I had a successful career in sales and executive search. I’ve coached, advised, and am friends with athletes, authors, executives, bad ass entrepreneurs, and people who are household names and leaders in their field. I’ve been in the right rooms and made a difference.
Sure, I know a lot and am really good at what I do, but I’m NOT some BS self-proclaimed “guru”, “influencer” or “thought leader.” or “wanna be” LinkedIn or IG famous celeb with all the answers. (I F**ing hate those phrases and don’t put a lot of faith in people that claim to be one btw)
See, there is another side to this coin. I’ve also screwed up, played small, been a d-bag at times, made giant mistakes, had my ass handed to me, been heartbroken, made & lost a ton of money, and questioned myself, friendships, relationships, God, and the Universe several times over. I have a laundry list of things I’d like to do over. I’ve learned from it all… and I’m still learning.
THAT is real life. That’s the “grown ass adult” stuff we all encounter. THAT is also where some of the hardest and best lessons come from.
