So You’re Thinking About Starting Over Somewhere New…

A lot of people dream of packing up everything and relocating, starting over in a new city or just going “nomadic” for a while to what it’s like to live in another place.

The idea of moving, traveling, relocating; actually selling everything or putting it in storage and trying out new places for a while is exciting. It’s also challenging.

I know because I’ve done it. In fact we just finished our nomadic journey of the past two years.

There is a lot we thought we knew, a lot we discovered, and a lot we never even considered until we were in the thick of it.

I’m frequently asked to share what we learned or how to do it properly by others seeking to do the same… and I’d like to share what we learned with you.

BUTTON TIME. ETC.

Maybe there is a life event or just an awakening or realizing there is a lot of world to see and not a lot of time. Maybe it’s a chance to explore a new place.. and yourself… more and more people in midlife and beyond are choosing to make the move.

Whether it’s around the country or around the world, for a few months or a few years or even permanetly, relocating or going nomadic in midlife isn’t just packing up and hitting the road. AND once you’re there or on the move, there are things that you never encountered, or thought of.

Two years ago, we sold the house in Dallas, put everything in storage and took our two dogs on the road. We made 8 moves in two years. We wanted to explore fun places AND places we were seriously considering moving to permanently. (btw… we just ended up permanently in San Diego near the beach)

Logistics, finances, emotions, working, day to day services, finding housing and basic services, discovering new cities and more. Along the way we discovered the good, the bad, the unexpected. and things I wish I’d known and things I’d do differently before AND during.
