Love is love… a parents view

This!!! When you become a parent you learn to fully embrace what unconditional love means.

Not long ago I was in Austin and I overheard a group of girls at the table next to me speaking about the challenges, obstacles, discarding, and rejection some of them experienced when they came out to their parents.

Unbelievable and hurtful stories. These were a group of nurses, beautiful, intelligent girls who were just being true to themselves… I stopped and introduced myself and said I overheard and I told them about my daughter and when she came out to me and told me about her relationship with her now fiancé. My response was joy and that I was just happy she found someone who loved her as much as I did… I didn’t care about the rest.

Isn’t that what any parent wants… someone to love their child like they do and treat them well? Maybe that’s just me.. but that’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

I told these girls how I felt for those who had experienced rejection from their parents. I got a few hugs and comments about how lucky my daughter was…but as a parent it really is about raising good humans who love and can be loved.. PERIOD!

Yep y’all, love is love Y’all really and love really does mean all… all shapes, colors, parts and preferences!!!

Happy pride month y’all… and Sammy and Dani… I love you both and couldn’t be more proud to be your dad .. and future father in law (D2 ) y’all!! .
