Love is magic I believe In.
.. this piece of street art (ok fence art) is from my #austin art walk / heart walk on Cesar Chavez in East Austin. (See my earlier post for some amazing street art and sculpture!!) Really check it out.
This graffiti spoke to me that day for many reasons... but the main one is because of that word...magic.
You see, I was in Texas to uncover some lost magic... which I did btw. (But that’s a different and personal story... sorry y’all)
However, God has a twisted sense of humor (also known as serendipity) and tends to put things in your path at the precise time you’re ready to see them.
This was one of them.
Here is your warning, I’m about to go “woo woo” on you for a moment and talk about love and magic! Nope, not romantic love…. but something BIGGER.
We all define #love and #magic differently… but I’m talking about the magic that comes from letting loose what’s inside of your heart (your unique brand of love, magic, your special mojo) in service of something bigger than yourself.
This can mean family, friends, the community or people around you… and YES, even business.
Here is my take on it… (or rather what I learned in my 50+ years)… magic comes from loving yourself first and foremost, being true to yourself and being in and living in “alignment” with who you are, what you stand for, your roots, what you fight for and live for (your big rocks), by being true to yourself, loving and living hard, truly, and never compromising, shrinking or playing small… by doing this… you can step into your power and properly spread your brand of love and magic to others in whatever way you choose.
It might mean something different to you. But this is part of what I uncovered back home in Texas and was reminded of on that fence in Austin that morning...and to me, that’s the good stuff. That is magic I believe in.
